Fushigi Yugi

Fushigi Yugi is about a girl named Miaka Yuki who is a normal teenager in Japan studying for her high school exams. Little more is in her life other than her two loves: her best friend Yui and food. One day after school, Miaka accompanies Yui to the National Library. In the library, Miaka encounters a vision of a flaming red bird that leads her to a book called the Universe of the Four Gods.

About: Master at any type of hand to hand combat. An expert martial artist. Tamahome is deeply in love with Miaka and has sworn to protect her - as both a Suzako guardian and because he's got a personal stake in her safety.

Symbol: "Star" - Located on neck
Constellation: Hydra
Hobbies: Full time ruler of the country of Konan, reading and looking his best.
About: The ability to create, deflect and penetrate energy fields. He's also capable of bestowing these properties to objects - like the sword given to Miaka. Like Tamahome, he's also deeply in love with Miaka.

Name: Chichiri
Symbol: "Well" - Located on left knee.
Constellation: Level
Hobbies: Fishing
About: He's a magic user with the power of teleportation. He's also capable of channeling his Chi to generate energy attacks and fields. He wears the robes of a monk and he wears a 'happy' mask to cover a deep scar on his face.

About: He is able to channel his chi into a magical fan which grants him all types of fire attacks. His temper is as firery as his abilities - always headstrong and rushing into situations without thinking about the consequences.

Hobbies: Dressing up and trying to woo Hotohori.
About: Nuriko is incredibly strong. These powers are augumented a pair of magical bracelets. Initially at odds with Miaka, Nuriko quickly becomes best of friends with her. Nuriko is in love with Hotohori but has a deeply rooted secret that may not make that possible.

Name: Mitsukake
Symbol: "Sadness" - Located on left palm.
Constellation: Corvus
Hobbies: Taking care of sick and injured animals.
About: A healer by nature. He's got the ability to heal even mortal wounds once per day - this in addition to being a very accomplished doctor. He's always found in the company of his pet cat "Tama". He prefers to let the others do the talking for him.

Name: Chiriko
Symbol: "Stretching" - Located on his left foot.
Constellation: Net
Hobbies: Studying.
About: When the symbol glows, Chiriko gains inmense learning and understanding abilities. He's able to grasp situations instantly and form solutions to any problem. He's very mature for his age but ONLY when the symbol glows.

Seiryu Warriors

Name: Nakago
Symbol: "Heart" - Located on forehead
Constellation: Heart
About: He's kind of a 'Super-Warrior'. He can use his chi to generate offensive energy attacks but also generate defensive almost impenetrable force fields. He's highly telekinetic and can move objects and people with the power of his mind. He can sense other seishi in the area. Nakago is extremely cunning and manipulative.

Name: Amiboshi
Symbol: "Harmony" - Located on right forearm.
Constellation: Neck
About: Using a flute, he can plays tunes to either increase or poison a person's life energy. With the power of his chi channeled through the flute, he can create tunes to soothe and heal or inflict damage and disrupt concentration. Amiboshi has a twin brother - Suboshi with whom he shares a strong telepathic link.

Name: Suboshi
Symbol: "Horn" - Located on left forearm.
Constellation: Virgo
About: Like his twin brother Amiboshi, he actually channels his chi through a very unlikely instrument - a children's toy called a "Ryuuseisui". He can telekinetically make the weapon spin and bore - like a drill - through just about anything, or anyone. Suboshi shares a strong telepathic link with his brother - Amiboshi.

Name: Ashitare
Symbol: "Tail" - Located on right lower-back.
Constellation: Tail
About: Ashitare is a werewolf with a taste for human flesh. Like an animal, his senses are augumented, so he can hear, smell, and see better in the dark than a human being. He's also incredibly strong but feral - like an animal - and like one, sometimes uncontrollable. Ashitare is the brawny-henchman for Nakago.

Symbol: "Tassle" - Located on left leg.
Constellation: Scorpio
About: Soi commands the powers of electricity. She can launch lightning attacks from her hands, as well as summon huge thunderheads to blast her opponents from afar. She also has the power to decrease or augument someone's power through the use of sexual techniques. She loves Nakago and has increased his power.

Name: Tomo
Symbol: "Root" - Located on abdomen
Constellation: Libra
About: Tomo has the ability to create and control incredibly realistic mirages. He creates these illusionary worlds inside magical shells (Shin) where he controls every aspect of the illustion. He's able to 'phase' in shadows and is mildly telekinetic. He wears extravagant dress and make-up. He's in love with Nakago.

Name: Miboshi
Symbol: "" - Located on the back of the neck.
Constellation: Fox
About: Miboshi's orginal body died long ago, however, one of his abilities is to 'hop' from one host to another as the body dies. He prefers children - whom he finds easy to control. Miboshi can summon golem-like monsters created from earth and stone as well as bring statues to life. He channels his energy through a child's toy.

Genbu Warriors

Name: Tomite
Symbol: "Emptiness" - Located on left back.
Constellation: Sagitarius
About: Tomite's body died over a hundred years ago (In Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play. In Genbu Kaiden he's alive) but his spirit remains guarding the sacred Shinhazo of Genbu. He's an excellent marksman with the bow and he has the ability to shoot ice projectiles of his own craft with deadly accuracy. He can also surround his enemies within an energy ring which crushes the life out of them. He dresses in northern style clothing - appropriate given the weather in Hokkan.

Name: Hikitsu
Symbol: "Ladle" - Located on right eye.
Constellation: Ladle
About: Hikitsu can create ice creatures and command them to attack. He is especially adept at creating ice snakes. Hikitsu's seishi symbol is actually ON his eye as a result, he is blind on his right eye and wears an eye patch to cover it up. Like Tomite, his physical body died over 200 years ago (In the Mysterious Play) but his spiritual manifestation remains as one of the guardians of the Genbu Shinhazo.

Name: Tokaki
Symbol: "stride" - Located on left cheek
Constellation: ???
About: Tokaki taught Tamahome how to fight despite being over a hundred years old. Also much to his wife - Subaru's - annoyance and despite his age, he is a letcherous skirt-chaser. He's got the power of teleportation and amazing speed.

Name: Subaru
Symbol: "Rise" - ? breast.
Constellation: ???
About: Subaru has power over time and can manipulate it so that it can keep someone young or can also make them old before their time. She also has the ability to create fields that can slow or speed up the passage of time. She's married to Tokaki.

Name: Tatara
Symbol: "Lasso" - Located on the back of right hand.
Constellation: Lasso
About: Tatara is the keeper of the Byakko shinhazo. He was kept alive through Subaru's magic for over a hundred years. He has the ability to control plants and their growth and can command them to attack.
